Fourth round of President’s Trophy Grade-I first-class to begin from Wednesday; SNGPL and KRL manage to draw their games after faltering in first innings

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Kingsmen Academy emerged victorious in the third round of the Al Batal Presents ABS Developers President’s Trophy Grade-I 2026-27 on Sunday across three venues. The fourth round will begin from Wednesday, 30 September.
Muhammad Ghazi Ghori-led SBP bagged their first win in the tournament after two draws and jumped to the top of the table with 49 points. They beat Ghani by an innings and 18 runs after their opening duo’s record 417-run opening stand.
Kingsmen Academy, who are placed second with 42 points, also managed their first win in the tournament when they thumped PTV by 10 wickets. Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) have accrued 39 points and are placed third.
Ghani (37), Khan Research Laboratories (35), Markhor IT Solutions (31), Pakistan Television (28) and Sui Norther Gas Pipelines Limited (21) are next on the table.
At National Ground in Islamabad, SBP bundled out Ghani for 298 in 95.5 overs after gaining a first innings lead of 316. Ghani had resumed their second innings from overnight score of 125-2 in 43 and lost eight wickets for 173 runs. Skipper Mohsin Riaz registered his fourth first-class century as he fought with a 148-ball 117 hitting 19 fours and two sixes but in vain.
First innings centurion Ali Razzaq also waged a battle with 49 from 110 balls hitting eight fours and one six but could not force SBP to bat again. For SBP, Kashif Bhatti and Sirajuddin picked up three wickets each, while Mubasir Khan dismissed two batters in his 25 overs for 59 runs including six maidens.
At Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Kingsmen Academy romped to a 10-wicket win over PTV as they chased down the 87-run target in 9.5 overs. Mohammad Tayyab Arif (44 not out, 34b, 2x4s, 2x6s) and Mohammad Huraira (40 not out, 25b, 5x4s) remaining unbeaten.
Earlier, Kingsmen Academy’s pacer Mohammad Ilyas bagged figures of 19.2-5-57-6 to end up with match haul of 11-186 – his best match figures in first-class cricket.
PTV had resumed their second innings from overnight score of 62-2 in 18 overs and were dismissed for 299 in 88.2 overs with Mohammad Taha (69, 94b, 13x4s) and Sharoon Siraj (61, 125b, 8x4s) scoring half-centuries.
Amad Butt (39, 97b, 6x4s), Taimur Khan (26, 53b, 5x4s) and Mohammad Ammar (30, 63b, 6x4s) staged some resistance but it was not enough to save the game for PTV. Kingsmen’s Muhammad Umar and Shoaib Afridi backed up Ilyas with two wickets each.
At Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, OGDCL managed to salvage a draw after being asked to follow-on by KRL as they scored 275 all out in their second innings, setting OGDCL 95 to win but with not much time left in the game. KRL could only bat for only three overs, scored 11 and lost Shahzaib Khan for an eight-ball duck to Mohammad Amir Khan.
OGDCL had resumed following-on from overnight score of 34 for no loss in 10 overs and needed to bat time, which they did as they faced 79 overs on day four with skipper Rohail Nazir (72, 116b, 6x4s, 1×6) and Waqar Ahmed (60, 86b, 9x4s) leading the way with half-centuries.
Nos 7 to 10 for OGDCL Mohammad Hammad Khan (37, 86b, 3x4s), Razaullah (27, 34b, 4xs), Mohammad Salman (12 not out, 28b, 2x4s) and Mohammad Amir Khan (2, 18b) combined faced 27.4 overs as the chances of a win drifted away from KRL, who had scooped out Babar Azam and Danish Aziz for single digits.
Arshad Iqbal took his tally of wickets in the match to eight with three for 43, while Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Faiq and Iftikhar Ahmed picked up two wickets each.
At Imran Khan Stadium Peshawar, SNGPL were set a 394-run target in the remaining 64 overs in the day by MIT Solutions but they only managed 163-1 in 50 overs before the teams shook hands for a draw.
SNGPL openers Azan Awais (81, 154b, 11x4s, 1×6) and Sameer Minhas (75, 146b, 12x4s) put up a strong performance scoring half-centuries after collecting 18 runs combined in first innings.
Earlier, MIT had resumed their second innings on 33-1 in 13 overs and declared at 192-7 in 45.3 overs with Salman Khan Jnr scoring 52 off 80 balls hitting six fours, while skipper Khalid Usman contributed a declaration score of 35 not out off 24 balls smashing three sixes.
SNGPL’s Mohammad Azab picked up three wickets, Muhammad Imran dismissed two batters.
