Peshawar: The third phase of the National Boxing Talent Hunt Program, organized by the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF), commenced today at Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar, with participation of more than 300 male and female players from across the province.
This was stated by Khizerullah Jan, General Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boxing Association, while addressing the media. He informed that the championship is being conducted in collaboration with the Pakistan Army and the Pakistan Boxing Federation, aiming to identify and groom emerging boxing talent at the grassroots level.
He further elaborated that the first two phases of the Talent Hunt Program have already been successfully completed, while the third phase will continue until February 16. Around 300 boxers are competing in this stage, from which 42 male and female athletes will be shortlisted to participate in the upcoming National Championship scheduled after Eid.
Khizerullah Jan commended the dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s boxers and expressed optimism that the program will serve as a structured pathway for young athletes to advance toward national and international recognition.
The Talent Hunt initiative is considered a strategic effort to strengthen Pakistan’s boxing base by systematically scouting, evaluating, and developing promising athletes from across the country.
