PESHAWAR : Radio Tehzeeb celebrated its 13th anniversary with a ceremony in Peshawar on Pakistan Defence Day. Renowned writer, poet and broadcaster Abasin Yousafzai attended as the chief guest, while prominent broadcasters, producers and other personalities also participated.
Radio Tehzeeb began broadcasting on September 6, 2013. Over the past thirteen years, it has earned a distinctive place among listeners through programmes covering literature, culture, sports and various social issues.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Saleem Sameer, senior broadcaster Ayaz Raza Afridi, broadcasters Rubina Siddiqui and Shafiq Shahid, producers Ismail Afridi, Latifullah and Alishba Khan, engineer Roman Ali and award-winning RJ Saddam Hussain, among others.
Latifullah handled the event arrangements and stage security, while producer Ismail Afridi welcomed the guests and thanked them for attending.
Speaking at the event, Ayaz Raza Afridi highlighted the importance of Defence Day, the sacrifices made for the country and Radio Tehzeeb’s thirteen years of service. He said the station had always promoted positive, constructive and quality programming.
Dr. Saleem Sameer recalled his association with Radio Tehzeeb, saying he began his career as an RJ there in 2014 and gained valuable experience. He shared his memories and experiences with the participants.
RJ Saddam Hussain thanked the management for recognizing his services and expressing appreciation for his work.
Chief guest Abasin Yousafzai praised Radio Tehzeeb’s contribution, saying the station had won the hearts of listeners over the past thirteen years and served society through quality programmes on literature, sports and other subjects.
The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting to mark Defence Day and Radio Tehzeeb’s anniversary. The participants expressed their best wishes for the station’s continued success.
The management also announced that Radio Tehzeeb will soon organize an awards show, where prizes will be presented to the top three students in the national songs competition as well as prominent personalities from different fields.
