PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, has said that relief and rehabilitation activities are continuing at full pace across all flood-affected districts. To ensure timely compensation to the victims, a digital application has been launched, aimed at ensuring transparency and prompt disbursement. Additionally, Rs. 3 billion have been released for relief and rehabilitation efforts. Barrister Dr. Saif stated that during rescue operations, 5,210 people have been safely evacuated. Relief operations are in full swing across the affected districts, with five Army helicopters and one provincial helicopter actively participating. A total of 6,000 personnel are engaged in the rescue operations, while 176 rescue centers have been established in the affected districts. So far, 100 roads have been cleared, while 89 trucks loaded with relief items have already been dispatched, with additional consignments to follow today. He added that relief distributions include 2,800 tents, 6,100 mattresses, 2,700 hygiene kits, and 4,300 kitchen sets, along with 3,100 tarpaulins, 7,400 mosquito nets, 6,800 blankets, and 500 gas cylinders. Furthermore, Dr. Saif highlighted that 289 medical camps have been established in flood-hit areas, where 822 cases of infectious diseases have been reported and treated on time. The Chief Minister has donated one month’s salary, while cabinet members have contributed 15 days’ salary towards relief for flood victims. Similarly, members of the provincial assembly donated seven days’ salary, officers from Grade-17 and above contributed two days’ salary, and employees from Grade-1 to 16 donated one day’s salary for the assistance of flood-affected people.
