Rabat (Morocco): Under the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, Prince Moulay Rachid on Monday received the members of the Moroccan National Football Team at the Royal Guests Palace in Rabat. The team finished as runners-up of the Africa Cup of Nations.

On this occasion, Prince Moulay Rachid was greeted by the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, National Team Head Coach Walid Regragui, and the members of the national squad. The ceremony concluded with a commemorative group photograph.

This reception reflects the High Benevolence with which His Majesty the King has consistently surrounded the Kingdom’s youth, as well as his steadfast support for their development through sports. It also highlights the particular importance the Sovereign attaches to the sports sector in general, and to football in particular.

Immediately following the final match between the Moroccan national team and its Senegalese counterpart, His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to the players and technical staff. In his message, the Sovereign emphasized that through their distinguished campaign, the team demonstrated that perseverance, dedication, and team spirit are the foundations of excellence. He further noted that their performance showcased to the world what Moroccan and African youth can achieve when they believe in their talents and abilities.

His Majesty also praised the team’s determination and honorable performance, stressing that it confirmed the relevance of his strategic vision focused on investing in human capital and modernizing the Kingdom’s infrastructure. The Sovereign underlined that this approach has strengthened Morocco’s resilience and ensured world-class standards of preparation, particularly in view of the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
