ISLAMABAD: The Russian Embassy in Pakistan facilitated voting for Russian citizens residing in or temporarily staying in Pakistan in the 2026 State Duma elections on September 20.
A polling station was established at the Embassy in Islamabad, where 130 Russian citizens, including Embassy and Trade Mission officials, their family members and other Russian nationals, cast their ballots.
Two observers appointed by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation monitored the voting process and reported that polling proceeded smoothly, with no violations of established procedures.
Ambassador Albert P. Khorev, Chair of the Precinct Election Commission, said the Embassy, in coordination with Pakistani authorities, took additional measures to inform voters and arrange convenient transportation amid traffic restrictions in Islamabad.
Observers Olga Starkova and Natalia Zhilina commended the election commission for its efficient arrangements, noting that voting remained peaceful and all necessary procedures were followed.
The Embassy thanked Russian citizens who participated in the parliamentary elections and exercised their constitutional right to vote.
