PESHAWAR:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allocated a significant amount in the budget for the financial year 2025-26 to prioritize crucial sectors such as forests, wildlife, and climate change.
A total of 62 new and ongoing projects in these sectors have been earmarked, with 33 projects in progress and 29 new projects set to be launched. Approximately 4.4 billion rupees have been allocated for these projects—3.79 billion rupees for ongoing and 445 million rupees for new projects.

In the forestry sector, one billion rupees have been allocated for 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Program, upscaling of the Green Pakistan Program, and the revival of forest resources. In the wildlife sector 371.5 million rupees have been allocated for the establishment of a mini zoo in Kanju Township, Swat, and 405.5 million rupees for a zoo in Peshawar Division.

The climate change sector has been allocated 454 million rupees for various important projects, while approximately 94 million rupees have been allocated for three ongoing and two new projecs.

The provincial government’s focus on these sectors not only aims at environmental conservation but also provides the public with a clean and recreational environment.

Under the supervision of the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Forests and Environment, Pir Musavir Khan, the completion of these projects will fulfill the dream of former Chairman Imran Khan for a green and prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
