PESHAWAR: Funeral prayers for six Pakistan Army personnel who embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with khawarij in Hangu were offered in Peshawar on September 20, 2026, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, the Peshawar Corps Commander, family members of the martyrs and a large number of senior civil and military officials attended the funeral prayers.
The martyrs were identified as Captain Abu Zar Farooq, Lieutenant Shiraz Babar, Sepoy Shakeel Ahmed, Sepoy Hamza, Sepoy Muhammad Usman Aziz and Non-Combatant Ghulam Sajjad.
According to ISPR, the bodies of the martyrs have been transported to their respective hometowns, where they will be laid to rest with full military honours.
ISPR stated that the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs in defence of the motherland further strengthen the unwavering resolve of the security forces.
