Lahore – The newly elected President of the Tenpin Bowling Federation, Ijaz-ur-Rehman, appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for conducting transparent, fair, and impartial elections. Speaking to the media after receiving the notification of election results at the PSB Coaching Centre Lahore on Friday, he said the elections were a commendable initiative that concluded smoothly. He announced that a Tenpin Bowling Club will be established within PSB.
He added that Pakistani youth have the potential to make the country proud at the international level in tenpin bowling, and more than 100 players are currently ready for global competitions. Accompanying him were Secretary General of the Federation Lt. Col . (R) Kamran Khalid, Janjua, Muhammad Hussain Chattha, and Joint Secretary Mehmood-ur-Rehman.
President Ijaz-ur-Rehman further said that, for the first time, the PSB initiated the election process of the federation, and they are thankful to DG PSB Yasir Peerzada and the members of the election commission for conducting excellent elections. He expressed hope that the PSB will continue to play its role in strengthening and activating the federation in the future.
He also thanked the media, saying the PSB has provided them with a good platform. He mentioned that quality coaches will be hired for tenpin bowling and that a club will also be formed within PSB to train players more effectively. “Our children have the potential to win medals at the international level and bring glory to Pakistan,” he added.
He stated that the four-year term of the new office-bearers begins today, and over 100 players are currently affiliated with the federation. He emphasized promoting sports tourism, noting that tenpin bowling is played in 157 countries. He also announced that two of Pakistan’s under-20 players will participate in the Qatar Annual Championship, and from August 8 to August 14, a tenpin bowling tournament will be organized at the Islamabad Sports Complex.
