Stockholm: The 19th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Sweden and Pakistan was successfully held in Stockholm, reflecting the enduring partnership and shared commitment of both nations to further strengthen their multifaceted relationship.

The consultations were co-chaired by Mr. Mikael Lindvall, Director General for Global Affairs, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Additional Secretary (Europe), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions covering a wide range of bilateral, regional, and multilateral issues of mutual interest. Topics included political cooperation, trade and investment, climate change, education, cultural exchanges, and collaboration in science and technology. The two delegations also exchanged views on regional developments and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation in international fora.

Reaffirming 75 years of diplomatic relations, both Sweden and Pakistan expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of their bilateral ties and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The consultations concluded with both sides agreeing to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges and people-to-people contacts, while working together to further diversify and deepen their partnership in the years ahead.
The next round of Bilateral Political Consultations will be hosted by Pakistan at a mutually agreed date.
