SHANGLA: In a devastating tragedy, three young coal miners, including two real brothers, lost their lives following a roof collapse inside a coal mine in Darra Adam Khel. All three victims hailed from the Kuzkana area of District Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The deceased have been identified as:
•Kamil, son of Sabar Khan, aged approximately 24
•Muhammad Rashad, son of Sabar Khan, aged approximately 20
•Barkat, son of Afsar, aged approximately 21
According to initial accounts, the miners were working underground when a section of the mine suddenly caved in, trapping them inside. Despite immediate rescue attempts by fellow miners and local residents, all three young men succumbed to the collapse before they could be pulled out.
This tragic incident has once again drawn attention to the serious lack of safety protocols in Pakistan’s mining industry. Heartbroken families and community members have called on authorities to enforce stricter regulations and safety checks to prevent such heartbreaking losses in the future.
The entire Kuzkana village is mourning the loss of these promising young lives, and local leaders have urged the government to provide financial assistance and ensure justice for the grieving families.
