PROVINCE REPORT
PESHAWAR: The RFL 2 Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship concluded successfully at the Gymnasium Hall of the Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Centre, bringing together some of the country’s top MMA fighters from all four provinces. A total of 22 bouts were contested during the event, including four professional and 18 amateur fights, showcasing Pakistan’s growing talent in mixed martial arts.
The professional card featured impressive performances from Kashif Ali and Faheem Khan of Passion Spartan Club, Rawalpindi, Zeeshan Mehsud of LDFC Lions Den Fighting Club, Dera Ismail Khan, and Muhammad Mehdi of Quetta, who displayed high-level skills and competitive spirit throughout the championship.

56kg: Zia ur Rehman (Badshah Wushu Academy, Karachi)

The officiating panel was headed by Nasir Khan Yousafzai, with Shafi ur Rehman, Muhammad Zaman, and Naimatullah serving as referees. Event officials included Waqar Haider, Humayun Changezi, Ashfaq Mohmand, Baseer Ahmad, Muhammad Ali, Irfan Khan, and Sabir Shah.
The championship was supervised by Osama Mehboob Awan, Secretary General of the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Vice President of IFT Fight Pass, along with Provincial Secretary Ameen Ahmad, Provincial President Shafi ur Rehman, and Khalid Noor, President of the Karate Association.
The closing ceremony was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider, Shah Faisal, and Director Youth Affairs Abbas Afridi, who distributed trophies, medals, and prizes among the outstanding performers.
Among the distinguished guests were Rahmat Gul of the Wushu Association, Najamullah, Secretary of the Wushu Association, Khizarullah, Secretary of the Boxing Association, Naimatullah, Secretary of the Kickboxing Association, and Shihan Muhammad Naeem, who encouraged the athletes and presented medals to the winners.
According to the organizers, the RFL 2 MMA Championship was held with the support of the Commissioner Peshawar and the Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs. The event aimed to promote mixed martial arts in Pakistan, provide a competitive platform for emerging fighters, and contribute to the continued growth of combat sports across the country.
