SWABI: A tree plantation ceremony under the “Ehsaas-e-Shajar” initiative was organized at Women University Swabi, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen.
The event was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, faculty members, and a large number of female students. On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, along with district administration officials and students, planted saplings to formally launch the plantation drive.
A variety of plants including Khajoor Palm, Multi Head Topiary, Spiral, Cone Shape, Jasmine, Cassia Fistula also known as Golden Shower, Alstonia, Globe, Bougainvillea, Terminalia Green, Euphorbia, Conocarpus, Phoenix Palm, and Bottle Palm are being planted under this campaign. In total, 740 plants and trees will be planted.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen emphasized that female students are not only progressing in education but can also play a vital role in environmental protection. She stated that planting trees is an investment in a safer and greener future for coming generations.
The Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of educational institutions in promoting environmental sustainability.
The participating students expressed their commitment to ensuring the proper care and growth of these plants. The ceremony concluded with a collective pledge to continue such efforts for a greener and healthier environment.
