PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Pro-Chancellor of the University, Major (R) Sajjad Barakwal chair meeting of Senate of the University of Agriculture Peshawar here at Civil Secretariat, Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Agriculture Sohail Ahmed, Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture Peshawar Dr. Jehan Bakht, Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Dr. Jameel Ahmed, Registrar of the University of Agriculture Peshawar, along with representatives from the Finance Department, Law Department, Establishment, Higher Education Department, Higher Education Commission, High Court, and other Senate members.
During the meeting, the annual budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, income and expenditure of 2024-25, annual work plan, and annual report of the University of Agriculture Peshawar were thoroughly reviewed. The Senate was informed that during the fiscal year 2025-26, the university will receive a total of Rs. 3,632 million from various sources, ensuring their transparent and efficient utilization. A detailed briefing was also given on the use of funds, income, expenditure, and key features of the budget.
The Senate unanimously approved the budget for fiscal year 2025-26. It also directed a review of the annual work plan and annual report, with instructions to have the revised documents resubmitted to the Syndicate for approval.
Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Pro-Chancellor of the University, Major (R) Sajjad Barakwal, said that the University of Agriculture Peshawar is an important center of modern agricultural research and education in the province. He assured that the budget will be utilized effectively and transparently to provide maximum facilities to students and research projects. He added that the government is committed to further strengthening the role of the University in benefiting farmers through modern technology and research.
