Flag Hoisting, Scholarships Highlight UEAS Celebrations

SWAT:The University of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Swat, commemorated 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, hosting a vibrant ceremony attended by Vice Chancellor UEAS Swat Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor UET Mardan, Prof. Dr. Imran Khan, Dean Faculty of Engineering & Computing, Prof. Dr. Sadaqat Jan along with faculty members, students, and staff.

The dignitaries were warmly welcomed upon arrival, followed by a flag hoisting ceremony that set the tone for the day’s celebrations. Deputy Registrar extended a heartfelt welcome to all participants and highlighted the significance of the day, emphasizing the role of students in nation building.

The program featured spirited performances by students, including patriotic speeches, milli naghmas and humorous poetry, which added both passion and joy to the event. Prof. Dr. Sadaqat Jan shared his views, underscoring the importance of academic excellence and social responsibility.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan encouraged students to play a proactive role in society and contribute positively to Pakistan’s progress. He added to make the University a model for other Universities by attracting competent faculty. Further, he envisioned students to become entrepreneurs and aimed to make them employable before even they graduate. The Vice-Chancellor assured that 20% scholarships would be offered to local students on merit. He further conveyed that initially at least five students will be selected for sponsored higher education abroad.

 

The ceremony concluded with a tree plantation drive on campus, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and a commitment to a greener future.
