MARDAN: In a landmark development for higher education in the Mardan region, the Vice Chancellor of UET
Mardan, Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad, and the Vice Chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
(AWKUM), Prof. Dr. Jameel Ahmad, convened a high-level meeting to chart a strategic framework
for inter-university collaboration. The comprehensive discussion aimed at fostering robust
partnerships in key academic and developmental areas, including joint research ventures,
collaborative teaching initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, and the strengthening
of departmental capacities across institutions. Both universities underscored the importance of
leveraging collective resources by sharing classroom infrastructure, hostel facilities, and
organizing joint co-curricular and academic competitions to enhance student engagement and
academic vibrancy.
This visionary initiative, spearheaded by UET Mardan and AWKUM, is set to pave the way for a
formalized Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will encompass all universities within the
Mardan region. The agreement will serve as a strategic blueprint for institutional cooperation,
ensuring mutual growth, academic innovation, and regional educational uplift. By aligning efforts
across universities, this collaborative model is poised to create a dynamic academic ecosystem
that promotes interdisciplinary research, optimizes resource utilization, and elevates the overall
quality of higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This breakthrough will not only strengthen
individual institutions but also contribute significantly to the socio-academic development of the region.
