MARDAN: The University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Mardan proudly hosted its flagship event, TechVision 2025 – Research & Final Year Project Expo, highlighting innovative student projects and institutional advancements in Artificial Intelligence and renewable energy.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Mr. Sajid Shah, Director General of Science and Technology for the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During his visit, Mr. Shah engaged with students, observed their project demonstrations, and commented on their creativity and real-world applicability. He noted UET Mardan’s dedication to fostering hands-on learning and advancing solution-driven research.
The event also featured Mr. Meena Khan, Minister for Higher Education, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he praised UET Mardan for cultivating a research-oriented academic culture focused on innovation and sustainability. He underscored the essential role of universities in preparing youth for future challenges in technology and green energy.
Mr. Khan inaugurated two significant initiatives during the event. The first was the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Centre, marking UET Mardan’s commitment to advanced AI research and collaboration with industry. This facility aims to become a regional hub for AI development and interdisciplinary innovation.
The second initiative was the launch of the UET Mardan Solarization Program, which signifies the university’s commitment to sustainable energy practices. The new on-campus solar power system positions UET Mardan as a model of environmental responsibility and energy efficiency, contributing directly to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Affordable and Clean Energy and Climate Action.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad khan welcomed the dignitaries and reaffirmed the university’s strategic mission to excel in innovation and sustainable development. He emphasized UET Mardan’s focus on equipping students with the skills necessary to thrive in an evolving technological landscape.
The exhibition featured Final Year Projects from students across various departments, including Computer Science, Electrical, Telecom, Software, Civil and Mechanical Engineering. These projects addressed complex real-world challenges through innovations in AI, automation, and renewable energy. The event garnered positive feedback from academic circles, industry professionals, and media representatives, who praised the students’ talent and forward-thinking approaches.
TechVision 2025 concluded with a formal ceremony recognizing the contributions of participating students, faculty, and organizers. Certificates and shields were awarded, marking a significant milestone in UET Mardan’s journey toward academic and technological excellence.
