LAHORE: The University College of Medicine and Dentistry (UCMD), a constituent institution of The University of Lahore (UOL), has won two prestigious AMEE ASPIRE Awards for excellence in Student Engagement and Faculty Development.

The awards were presented at the AMEE conference in Vienna, Austria. The Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) is a leading international organisation promoting excellence in medical education.

A ceremony was held at UOL to celebrate the achievement, attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Deputy Chairman Board of Governors Uzair Raoof, Principal UCMD Prof. Dr. Mahwish Arooj, Dean Prof. Dr. Moghees Ahmed Baig, faculty members and university officials.

Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf congratulated the UCMD faculty and administration, saying the recognition reflected UOL’s growing international academic standing. Uzair Raoof described the awards as a source of pride for the university and Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Mahwish Arooj said the awards were the result of a decade of collective effort and dedication by the UCMD team. She highlighted that UOL is the only Pakistani university to receive the AMEE Student Engagement Award, calling it a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s medical education sector.

The university management reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, faculty development, student-centred learning and international academic standards.
