PESHAWAR: The College of Home Economics, University of Peshawar, has launched a one-month Digital Skills Training Program in collaboration with the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to equip students with modern digital and professional skills.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Management and Information Sciences Professor Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, Acting Principal Professor Dr. Syeda Kaneez Fatima Haider, UNFPA Youth Component Lead Athar Iqbal, SRSP representatives, faculty members and students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sajjad Ahmad highlighted the importance of digital skills, saying that expertise in AI Prompt Engineering, LinkedIn Profile Optimization and Freelancing can help young people access national and international career opportunities. He said the training program aims to strengthen students’ professional capabilities and prepare them for the digital economy.
The organizers reaffirmed their commitment to promoting youth empowerment through similar initiatives, while students appreciated the opportunity and expressed hope for more skill-based training programs in the future.
