M. Izhar Bobi, the writer and lead actor of the Pashto drama serial “Khapona”, says that the teaser of the series is receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from viewers, which proves that audiences have a deep interest in serious, socially conscious topics.

According to M. Izhar Bobi, “Khapona” presents the sensitive and serious issue of human trafficking in a realistic manner. He said the goal of the series is not only entertainment but also to raise public awareness. He added that the positive response to the teaser has been highly encouraging for the entire team.

The 40-episode drama has been directed and produced by renowned director and producer Ashfaq Toru, while the script has been written by Muhammad Izhar Bobi and Feroz Khan Zigar. The serial is a joint production of Seven Colors Production International, Micro Screen International, and Wah Brothers.

The story of “Khapona” highlights the social, moral, and human issues that arise in the context of human trafficking — a serious challenge not only locally but also globally.

The editing of the drama has been done by Sahibzada, makeup by Ramzia Ghazal, and costumes designed by Farah G. Shah. The cast includes Tariq Jamal, Izhar Bobi, Khalid Khattak, Hamid Shehzad, Qazi Arif, Naik Khan, Sher Khan, Manjeet Singh, Govinder Singh, Waqas Abbas, Zia Bobi, Azmam Bobi, Owais Shah, Bridget Lee, Huyo Garcia, Henry Romero, Andrew Martiner, Flavio Garcia, Kay McFarland, Ahad Lodhi, Shivangi, Saeed Sheena, Haji Fazal Razzaq, Rukia, Shakeeba Afghan, Salam Swati, Shah Rukh, Zaman Baghdadi, Sajjad Ali, Rehana Makin, Salman Khan, Hamza Nausherwani, Hamza Nausherwani, and M.K. Shirazi.

Director Ashfaq Toru stated that the serial will not only highlight the impact of human trafficking on society but will also play an important role in promoting human rights and social awareness.

It is noteworthy that “Khapona” is the first Pashto drama serial filmed in the United States, with shooting locations in New York, Maryland, and Philadelphia. M. Izhar Bobi not only performed acting and scriptwriting duties but also played a key role in selecting locations in the U.S., securing shooting permits, and managing other administrative tasks.
