Peshawar:Minister for Communication and Works, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, undertook an official visit to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), Peshawar. The visit was primarily scheduled in response to concerns raised regarding delays in handover and questions related to the quality of construction work in the newly completed Orthopedic and Spine Block.
Proceedings:
A detailed briefing was arranged by the hospital administration in the presence of senior officials from the Communication and Works (C&W) Department. During this session, the Hospital Director and the Medical Director of HMC jointly presented the current status of development works, highlighting critical timelines, clinical requirements, and areas requiring immediate attention.
The Honorable Minister expressed concern over the unwarranted delay in the building’s handover and emphasized the importance of adhering to both quality standards and project timelines. He issued on-the-spot directions to the C&W Department officials to immediately rectify the identified shortcomings within the Orthopedic and Spine Block and to ensure its readiness for operational use at the earliest.
Visit to ADP Schemes:
Following the presentation, the Minister conducted a detailed visit of the ongoing Annual Development Programme (ADP) schemes within the hospital premises, including:

  • The Orthopedic and Spine Block
  • The Accident & Emergency Department
    He was given a comprehensive overview of each project by the hospital’s leadership team, including the need for timely fund disbursements and expedited work completion. In response, the Minister assured full support and committed to raising the matter at the upcoming cabinet meeting. He further instructed the C&W Department to provide him with daily progress updates on the mentioned schemes.

    During his visit, the Honorable Minister also toured various operational sections of the hospital and engaged directly with patients.
