PESHAWAR: Vice Chancellor Mardan Women University (MWU), Dr Razia Sultana, has emphasized that promoting women entrepreneurship is vital for sustainable socio-economic development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the country as a whole.
She was speaking at a conference and exhibition organized at Mardan Women University to promote women entrepreneurship, highlight women-led entrepreneurial ventures, and create learning and support opportunities for aspiring women entrepreneurs.
Dr Razia Sultana said that women possess immense potential to contribute to economic growth if provided with the right skills, platforms, and institutional support. She noted that such initiatives help women acquire practical skills, explore innovative business ideas, and connect with government departments, financial institutions, and development organizations.

The Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of collaboration between academia, government bodies, and private organizations to ensure sustainable impact on the socio-economic environment. She added that empowering women economically leads to stronger families, resilient communities, and inclusive national development.
The exhibition showcased a variety of women-owned businesses and startups, reflecting creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit. Participants appreciated the initiative, terming it a valuable platform for networking, learning, and growth.

Dr Razia Sultana reaffirmed MWU’s commitment to continuing such programs to encourage women entrepreneurship and enhance women’s role in economic development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
