KOHAT: Water and Sanitation Services Company Kohat (WSSCK) has chalked out a comprehensive special cleanliness plan for Eid ul Azha.
In this connection, a meeting was held under chairmanship of the WSSCK acting Chief Executive Officer and the board chairman Muhammad Saad to review the proposed plan and finalize it for Eid ul Azha, said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
Muhammad Saad, Chairman Board has suspended holidays of all staff to ensure timely disposal of sacrificial animals’ offal/waste, provision of uninterrupted water supply to citizens during the three day of the Eid ul Azha.
During the special Eid cleanliness campaign, nearly 378 cleanliness staff along with 96 small and big vehicles would be participating.
In its jurisdiction, the WSSCK has established 253 collection points and 22 major transfer stations were designated wherein the sacrificial animals’ offal/waste were gathered to transport to dumping ground during the three day of the Eid.
Work on the crater at the dumping ground has already been started to carefully dispose of the sacrificial animal wastes.
Muhammad Saad, Chairman Board and acting CEO WSSCK while speaking on the occasion said a program will be run on Radio along with display banners on main highways and routes to sensitize the masses regarding the three day special Eid cleanliness plan.
Similarly, the media teams distributed pamphlets and biodegradable bags in different localities.
Besides, the religious scholars and ulemas will deliver special sermons during Jumma and Eid prayers, in which the significance of cleanliness, proper disposal of and dumping sacrificial wastes at designated sites, saving water and cooperation with WSSCK staff would be highlighted.
The complaint cell of the WSSCK will remain open on three day of the Eid ul Azha.
The residents of the urban areas of Kohat will register complaints on helpline 1334, which would be addressed promptly.
