PROVINCE REPORT
MARDAN: Ms. Kainat Arzoo, an M.Phil scholar at the Department of Biotechnology, Women University Mardan (WUM), has successfully defended her thesis in the field of Environmental Toxicology.
The thesis, titled “Mycological Analysis of Dry Fruits Sold in Markets of Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan,” was completed under the supervision of Dr. Rakhshinda Sadiq.
The research examined fungal contamination in commercially available dry fruits and highlighted its importance for food safety, quality control, proper storage practices and reducing spoilage and economic losses.
The thesis defense was evaluated by Dr. Mohsin Jamal of the Department of Biotechnology, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), as External Examiner, along with Dr. Hina Jabeen, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, WUM, faculty members and university officials.
The Department of Biotechnology appreciated the support of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, the Directorate of Academics, Directorate of Examinations, ASRB and WUM administration in promoting academic and research excellence.
WUM congratulated Ms. Kainat Arzoo and her supervisor, Dr. Rakhshinda Sadiq, on the successful completion of the research and wished the scholar success in her future academic and professional career.
