DERA ISMAIL KHAN: City police foiled an alleged attempt to kidnap a two-year-old girl and safely reunited her with her parents after timely intervention.
According to police, a citizen, Waliullah Zafari, noticed a suspicious woman accompanying a two-year-old girl in Mohalla Jumma Shah, within the limits of City Police Station. When questioned about the child, the woman claimed that the girl was her daughter.
The citizen contacted the girl’s parents and learned that their two-year-old daughter was missing from home. He immediately informed the police, following which PA ASI Inamullah and a police team reached the area.
Police launched a search and placed blockades at different locations. During the search, the woman allegedly escaped from a rickshaw on Daraban Road on the pretext of purchasing goods. Police searched the rickshaw and recovered the girl from inside.
The child was immediately handed over safely to her parents. Local residents appreciated the timely action of the police and praised PA ASI Inamullah for his prompt response.
Police and residents urged parents to keep close supervision of minor children and immediately inform law-enforcement authorities about any suspicious activity.
