DERA ISMAIL KHAN: On the special instructions of Regional Police Officer Dera Ghulam Mubasher Maiken, district police have launched an awareness campaign in educational institutions to educate students about traffic rules and road safety.
As part of the campaign, DSP Traffic Warden Chan Shah visited various educational institutions and briefed students on safe road-crossing procedures, the dangers of underage driving, preventive measures against one-wheeling and traffic accidents, and the importance of following traffic rules.
Awareness pamphlets containing basic road safety guidelines were also distributed among students. They were encouraged not only to follow traffic rules themselves but also to motivate their parents, siblings and others to drive safely and responsibly.
RPO Ghulam Mubasher Maiken said the awareness activities in educational institutions would be further strengthened to protect the young generation and promote road safety. He said discouraging underage driving, one-wheeling and traffic violations, along with educating the public about accident-prevention measures, remains among the police’s priorities.
