All top seeds successful on first day

KARACHI: The Jahangir Khan PSA Series Challenger Squash Tournament has begun in Shahr-e-Quaid. Chief guest Atif Wasi inaugurated the tournament by cutting the ribbon.
Tournament Director Naveed Alam, Project Director Arsalan Naimat and Project Director Jahangir Khan Sports Club Aqeel Surya and others were also present on the occasion. All the top seeded players won the event held at Jahangir Khan Sports Club with the support of Atif Wasi and Family.
The first day saw the decisions of eight matches. Sui Northern Gas’s Muhammad Zaman outclassed Sindh’s Abdul Ahad 3-0. Punjab’s Varun Asif defeated Muhammad Fawad 3-0. Sindh’s Hassan Paracha defeated Sindh’s Zohaib Khan 3-0. Pakistan Army’s Azan Khan defeated Punjab’s Abdullah Nadeem 3-0. Sindh’s Sikandar Khan defeated Sindh’s Talha Saeed 3 games each.

Abdul Basit of Sindh won against Muhammad Babar of Punjab. Naveed Rehman of Sindh defeated Abdullah Zaman of Pakistan Air Force 3-0. Ashar Butt of Punjab defeated Harira Khan of Pakistan Air Force 3-1 to advance to the next round. The second round matches will begin at 12:00 noon on Wednesday. The final of the event with a prize money of $3,000 will be played on July 26.
