RABAT: Morocco and Pakistan have further strengthened their defence partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in January 2026, covering key areas including military production, cybersecurity, training, joint exercises, and military health.
The strategic agreement aims to diversify security alliances and promote South–South cooperation, while leveraging Pakistan’s growing defence and military industrial capabilities.
Under the agreement, both countries will cooperate in defence production and industry, focusing on co-development initiatives and the exchange of technical expertise. Cybersecurity forms a critical component of the MoU, with both sides agreeing to enhance cyber defence capabilities and information security between their armed forces.
The agreement also provides for training programmes, joint military exercises, and the exchange of professional military expertise, strengthening operational coordination and capacity building.
Signed in Rabat, the MoU reflects Morocco’s broader geostrategic approach to diversifying its strategic partnerships, while reaffirming the shared commitment of both nations to address regional and international security challenges.
The development underscores the growing defence ties between Morocco and Pakistan and their determination to deepen military collaboration in the years ahead.
