PESHAWAR: Advisor on Finance to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muzammil Aslam, visited Frontier Foundation Peshawar, a leading institution providing free treatment to children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, and other blood disorders.
During the visit, Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem and Administrator Dr. Fakhar Zaman briefed the Advisor on the foundation’s services, including its blood bank, wards, and treatment programs. The Advisor inspected the facilities, met children undergoing treatment, and appreciated the dedication of young patients like Sumbal, a girl with thalassemia who assists as a nurse.
Addressing the ceremony, Sahibzada Haleem highlighted that the institution has completed 23 years of service, spending around Rs. 100 million annually on free treatments, largely funded through public donations. He noted that the low trend of public contributions poses financial challenges for the foundation.
Advisor Muzammil Aslam praised the foundation’s efforts, assuring that the provincial government will contribute to the treatment of young children. He also appealed to the public to allocate a portion of their Zakat and donations to support children dependent on blood transfusions and the institutions serving them.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a shield to Advisor Muzammil Aslam by the Chairman of Frontier Foundation.
