LAHORE: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi lauded the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for its invaluable services during natural disasters, emergencies, and displacement, describing their work as exemplary in serving humanity.

During his visit to the Pak Red Crescent Medical and Dental College in Dinanath Manga Mandi, Lahore, the Governor laid the foundation stone of a new 250-bed hospital block, which will significantly expand medical facilities. He also visited patients undergoing treatment, presenting them with flowers and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Governor Kundi distributed Ramadan ration packages to deserving families, emphasizing that aiding vulnerable communities is a shared responsibility of government and welfare organizations. He highlighted plans to further expand the hospital to a 500-bed modern medical center to provide quality treatment to thousands.

The Governor encouraged quarterly meetings between provincial Red Crescent organizations to share experiences and urged central headquarters to support them with vehicles and other resources. Certificates and shields were awarded to outstanding doctors and students to motivate youth engagement in public service.

The ceremony included Pakistan Red Crescent Society Punjab Chairman Mian Muhammad Hanif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir, and other senior officials, faculty, doctors, students, and paramedical staff. Prayers were also offered for the martyrs of the Islamabad tragedy.
