PESHAWAR: Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hosted a grand iftar dinner at the Governor House Peshawar in honor of chief editors, editors, and beat reporters from newspapers across the province.
Addressing the gathering, the governor emphasized that development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cannot be achieved without peace and stressed the need to end terrorism originating from Afghanistan. He stated that while Pakistan does not seek war, its restraint should not be mistaken for weakness.
Governor Kundi highlighted that recent operations against terrorists hiding in Afghanistan, responsible for attacks including those in Islamabad, were critical to ending ongoing terror activities. He affirmed that all institutions are working in full coordination, and Pakistan’s security forces are fully capable of addressing threats.
Speaking on regional developments, he condemned the recent attack on Iran during Ramadan, urging the establishment of permanent peace and brotherhood in the region.
The governor also underscored the vital role of responsible journalism, stating that accurate and authentic reporting is essential in the current situation to keep the public well-informed.
