Peshawar: A dignified reception was held yesterday in honor of Professor Dr. Shaheen Omar, Principal of Government Girls Frontier College Peshawar. The event was jointly organized by Karwan-e-Hawa and Khana Farhang Iran, and was attended by a large number of teachers, writers, scholars, and friends of Dr. Shaheen Omar.

The ceremony was presided over by former Director of Radio Pakistan Mushtaq Shabab, while former Director of the Higher Education Commission Dr. Qasim Marwat attended as the chief guest. Speakers said that Dr. Shaheen Omar is an outstanding administrator, an accomplished teacher, and a graceful and refined personality. Her educational, administrative, and social services are highly commendable and serve as an inspiration for the younger generation.

Renowned writer Dr. Izharullah Izhar shared his memories with Dr. Shaheen Omar and described her personality as a beautiful blend of affection, compassion, and dignity. Dr. Khadim Ibrahim presented a congratulatory poem in her honor, which was warmly appreciated by the audience.

In the literary segment of the event, Rubina Moeen presented an engaging sketch highlighting Dr. Shaheen Omar’s personality. Chairperson of Karwan-e-Hawa Bushra Farrukh also presented a prose tribute and recited a poem, adding a memorable literary touch to the ceremony.

Chief guest Dr. Qasim Marwat shared his personal and academic association with Dr. Shaheen Omar, while presiding guest Mushtaq Shabab paid tribute to her services in his concluding remarks.

At the end of the ceremony, Bushra Farrukh, on behalf of Karwan-e-Hawa Literary Forum, presented Dr. Shaheen Omar with a Lifetime Achievement Award, while Director of Khana Farhang Iran Dr. Hussain Chaqoumi presented her with an honorary certificate.

The event proved to be a beautiful expression of love, respect, sincerity, and fellowship, with participants paying rich tribute to Dr. Shaheen Omar’s remarkable contributions and extending their best wishes for her future.
