PESHAWAR: Wajid Afridi, a rising martial arts star from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), has achieved a monumental milestone in his career, bringing immense pride to the province and the country.
In a prestigious ceremony held here on Saturday, Afridi was officially awarded the First Dan (Shodan) Black Belt along with merit certificates by the most revered masters of the sport.
The accolades were presented by senior officials of Kyokushin-kan International Pakistan, including Ala Gul Afridi (Black Belt 3rd Dan, Japan Kyokushin-kan International), Rajad Afridi (Black Belt 4th Dan), and Saeed Afridi (Black Belt 3rd Dan). The legendary instructors highly praised Wajid’s exceptional skills, technique, and lifelong commitment to martial arts.
Securing a Shodan Black Belt in Kyokushin-kan—one of the world’s most rigorous full-contact karate styles—is considered an extraordinary feat. Sports experts noted that this achievement is the culmination of years of brutal training, extreme discipline, and unwavering perseverance.
Speaking at the event, the senior instructors stated that Wajid’s historic promotion would serve as a beacon of inspiration for the youth of KP, proving that local talent can achieve international standards through hard work.
