BEIJING: China on Monday presented the Outstanding Diplomat Medal to eight current and former foreign ambassadors in Beijing in recognition of their exceptional contributions to strengthening friendship and cooperation between China and their respective countries.
The diplomats honored included former Russian Ambassador Andrey Denisov, former Cambodian Ambassador Khek M Caimealy Sysoda, current Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, current Kazakh Ambassador Shakhrat Nuryshev, current Saudi Ambassador Abdulrahman Alharbi, former Chadian Ambassador Allah-Maye Halina, current Colombian Ambassador Sergio Cabrera Cardenas, and former Uruguayan Ambassador Juan Fernando Lugris Rodriguez.
The ceremony marked the first event of its kind organized by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
