ISLAMABAD: Leadership of HBK Group met with the Political and Economic Section Chief of the United States Consulate General Peshawar, Kapil Gupta, and accompanying diplomats to discuss opportunities for enhancing commercial engagement and strengthening business linkages between Pakistan and the United States.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Amir Khan, Director of HBK Blankets, and Dr. Muhib Afridi, Chief Executive Officer of HBK Hypermarket, who briefed the visiting delegation on the Group’s operations, expansion plans, and growing presence in Pakistan’s retail and manufacturing sectors.
During the discussions, HBK Group highlighted its flagship textile and home products, including its blanket manufacturing operations, and shared its interest in exploring export opportunities in international markets, including the United States. The two sides also exchanged views on evolving market trends, trade facilitation mechanisms, and the broader commercial potential between Pakistani businesses and American partners.
HBK Hypermarket representatives also discussed the company’s interest in expanding the availability of authentic American products for consumers in Pakistan through direct commercial linkages with U.S. suppliers and manufacturers.
The meeting included a broader discussion on promoting commercial diplomacy, encouraging private sector engagement, and supporting a conducive business environment for enterprises in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across Pakistan. Mr. Gupta reaffirmed the importance the United States Mission places on engagement with the business community and efforts aimed at promoting mutually beneficial trade and commercial ties.
