Bajaur: A dignified condolence and prayer ceremony was organized by the Community Volunteer Network (CVN) and the Woror Wali Kafalat Project in memory of the late martyr Zia Salarzai. The event was attended by social workers, volunteers, community elders, friends, and members of the bereaved family.
During the ceremony, the Woror Wali Kafalat Project presented an assistance cheque worth Rs. 500,000 to Misbah Salarzai, the eldest son of the late Zia Salarzai. On the occasion, Misbah paid tribute to his father’s humanitarian services and offered to return the amount to CVN so that it could be utilized for widows and other deserving individuals. However, the leadership and members of CVN respectfully declined the offer, emphasizing that the assistance rightfully belonged to the late Zia Salarzai’s family and orphaned children and should therefore remain with them.
Addressing the gathering, the President of the Disabled Persons Association praised the welfare and social initiatives of the Community Volunteer Network, stating that such organizations serve as a beacon of hope for vulnerable segments of society. He also paid rich tribute to the social contributions of the late Zia Salarzai.
Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Jan, a close friend of the deceased, highlighted Zia Salarzai’s life, struggle, and dedication to public service. He said that the late social worker had devoted his life to serving humanity, helping those in need, and promoting social welfare. His passing, he added, is a loss that will be felt for a long time.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul, elevation of his ranks in the hereafter, and patience and strength for the bereaved family. Participants appreciated the welfare activities of CVN and the Woror Wali Kafalat Project and reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward the late Zia Salarzai’s mission of service.
Participants noted that while dedicated and selfless individuals like Zia Salarzai may leave this world physically, their services, character, and examples of compassion and humanity continue to live on in the hearts and minds of people.
