PESHAWAR :

A joint peaceful protest organized by the Secretariat Coordination Council and the PMS Officers Association entered its second day with full momentum, as employees continued demonstrating against the provincial government’s failure to fulfill commitments made before the budget announcement. A large number of secretariat officers, employees, and representatives of various organizations participated in the protest.

The demonstrators stated that the provincial government had assured employees before the budget that their legitimate demands would be accepted and implemented. However, those commitments have yet to be fulfilled. According to the protesters, this failure to honor promises has created deep frustration among secretariat employees, who have now united to secure their rights.

Participants made it clear that their peaceful protest would continue until their legitimate demands are approved and implemented. They urged the government to address employees’ issues without delay and translate its budget-related commitments into concrete action.

Leaders of the Secretariat Coordination Council and the PMS Officers Association warned that if the government continues to ignore the employees’ legitimate demands, the scope of the protest could be expanded beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to secretariats across Pakistan.

The protesters reiterated their determination to pursue every democratic and peaceful avenue to secure their legal and constitutional rights. They urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately initiate negotiations and resolve employees’ concerns, emphasizing that further delays could adversely affect the smooth functioning of government affairs.
