BAJAUR: Murad Sajid, former Chairman of Village Council (VC) Arang and a worker of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has expressed concern over the lack of basic facilities faced by local residents and called on the relevant authorities and elected representatives to take immediate notice of the situation.
Addressing a press conference at Bajaur Press Club in Khar along with his colleagues, Murad Sajid said that the people of Arang and its adjoining areas are still deprived of several basic necessities, including access to clean drinking water, causing serious hardships for the local population. He stated that the absence of effective measures to address public issues has led to growing frustration and disappointment among residents.
He alleged that some political representatives have failed to deliver services in line with public expectations. He further claimed that party workers have reservations regarding organizational affairs and the distribution of positions and responsibilities. According to him, preference is often given to a limited number of individuals in decision-making processes, creating a sense of deprivation among party workers and local residents.
Murad Sajid said that the drinking water crisis in VC Naranj and surrounding areas has reached an alarming level, with residents being forced to purchase a single can of water for up to Rs. 200. He described the situation as an additional burden on poor families amid rising inflation.
He also raised questions about certain development projects and the performance of public representatives, stating that more practical measures are needed to address the region’s developmental challenges and basic public issues. He stressed that the public should be fully informed about development projects and their benefits to ensure transparency and accountability.
At the conclusion of the press conference, Murad Sajid urged the government, district administration, and elected representatives to prioritize the resolution of drinking water shortages, the provision of basic facilities, and the completion of development projects in Arang, Naranj, and other affected areas, so that the difficulties faced by local communities can be addressed on a permanent basis.
