JEONBUK, South Korea: Jeonbuk State, in collaboration with the Jeonbuk State Office of Education and Jeonbuk Physical Education Middle & High School, has launched the “Re; Play Together, Jeonbuk Sports Friendship Gifts” initiative by donating 616 pieces of sports equipment to young athletes in Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Namibia.
The donated items, covering 12 sports including football, taekwondo, archery, shooting, and swimming, consist of both student-used and newly collected equipment. The initiative aims to promote friendship, solidarity, and international exchange through sports while encouraging students to embrace the values of sharing and global citizenship.
The equipment will be distributed to youth sports organizations in the three African countries through diplomatic and sports channels. Officials said the project originated after sports representatives from Zimbabwe and Namibia requested support during their visit to Jeonbuk last year.
Jeonbuk State officials described the initiative as part of their broader efforts to strengthen international sports cooperation and expand global youth exchanges. They added that the province plans to extend the programme to more countries and sports while promoting Jeonbuk as a leading international sports city.
