PESHAWAR: Peshawar will host the 1st Shams Ul Qamar PSA Satellite International Squash Championship from August 20 to 24, 2026. The event is being organised by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association (KPSA) with the support of the Shams Ul Qamar Foundation.
The five-day championship carries a prize purse of US$1,000 and will feature a 32-player draw involving leading squash players from across Pakistan. The tournament will provide emerging players an opportunity to earn international ranking points under the Professional Squash Association (PSA).
The opening ceremony and main draw will be held on August 20, while knockout rounds will continue through August 23. The final and closing ceremony are scheduled for August 24.
Former World No. 1 and squash legend Qamar Zaman said such tournaments were vital for identifying and nurturing young talent. He noted that Peshawar has a rich squash tradition and that international events would further strengthen Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s position in the sport.
The organisers have invited squash fans, sports enthusiasts and media representatives to attend the championship and encourage the participating players.
