MARDAN: Adviser to Chief Minister on Information Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif has said that the legal profession is not only honorable and sacred but also a backbone for the delivery of justice and the rule of law in society. He stated that if young lawyers adopt a spirit of public service and professional integrity, success will inevitably follow. He expressed these views as chief guest while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the District Bar Association Mardan. The event was attended by representatives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, members of the legal fraternity, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Technical Education Tufail Anjum, Deputy Commissioner Dr Azmatullah Wazir, DPO Zahoor Babar Afridi and a large number of senior and junior lawyers. Newly elected Bar President Asif Iqbal Advocate, General Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Advocate, and Mardan City Mayor Himayatullah Mayar also addressed the gathering and highlighted the issues faced by the legal community and possible solutions. Barrister Dr. Saif congratulated the new cabinet and said the KP government is well aware of the problems of the lawyers’ community and is taking serious steps to address their longstanding demands. He informed the audience that discussions regarding Mardan Bar’s issues had been completed with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and the provincial law minister. He noted that significant progress is expected soon on matters such as the construction of the Mardan Judicial Complex, provision of sheds for junior lawyers, solarization of bar rooms, and financial grants. Barrister Saif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a supportive and enabling environment for legal professionals. Responding positively to the demands presented in the welcome address, he emphasized the need for comprehensive planning by Bar Councils for the professional training and skill development of young lawyers to reduce economic challenges and enhance their professional effectiveness. The Adviser also praised Mardan Bar’s role in upholding the Constitution and law, strengthening democracy, and ensuring quick and affordable justice for citizens. Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif also participated as chief guest in the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected office-bearers of the Tehsil Press Club Rustam. He administered oath to the newly elected body of the club. Special Assistant to CM Tufail Anjum, Director General Information Ansarullah Khilji, Assistant Commissioner Rustam Nauman Parvez, local dignitaries, and journalists also participated in the oath taking ceremony.
