DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Khan Shinwari Restaurant near Fawara Chowk has been inaugurated with the aim of introducing the traditional flavours of Peshawar and Afghan cuisine to the people of Dera Ismail Khan.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by well-known social personality Haji Khalil Noor. President of Central Anjuman-e-Tajiran Sohail Ahmed Azmi, Muhammad Zeeshan, Ismail Noor and other business personalities and local dignitaries also attended the ceremony.
Speaking to the media, restaurant owner Adnan Zaman Khan Marwat said the restaurant aimed to provide citizens with quality food, authentic taste and a pleasant dining environment.
He said the restaurant offers a variety of traditional Peshawar and Afghan dishes, including Kabuli Pulao, Deighi Chargha and Rosh. Balochi Sajji and grilled fish will also be added to the menu during the coming winter season.
Adnan Zaman Marwat said the food preparation methods had been kept according to the traditional styles of Peshawar and Afghanistan to provide customers with authentic flavours rather than locally modified tastes.
He added that the restaurant staff also belonged to Peshawar, while spices were sourced from the city. Instead of using ready-made spice mixes, whole spices are purchased, ground at the restaurant and prepared according to the requirements of each dish to preserve their natural flavour.
Guests at the inauguration appreciated the restaurant’s emphasis on quality, taste and food presentation and welcomed the introduction of traditional Peshawar and Afghan cuisine in Dera Ismail Khan.
