A very sad and painful incident happened in Peshawar, which has made everyone think about their health and safety.
What Happened?
A 26-year-old young man was living a normal life with his family. He had pain in his teeth. Like all of us, he wanted to get rid of this pain. So, he went to a dental clinic located on Warsak Road, Gul Abad, Peshawar.
He went there for a small treatment. He never thought that this visit would be his last visit.
At the clinic, the doctor gave him an injection. Just after the injection, his condition started to get worse. His body could not bear the injection. His family and the people there took him to the hospital in a hurry, but the doctors in the hospital could not save him. The young man died in the hospital.
When his dead body came back home, there was crying in the whole house. His family were in shock. A young man who went for tooth pain came back as a dead body.
His family says that the doctor gave a wrong injection and because of the doctor’s carelessness, their son died.
What Did Police Do?
After this incident, the police took quick action. They arrested the doctor and sealed his clinic. Police also contacted the Health Regulatory Authority to check if the doctor was qualified, if the clinic was registered, and if the medicine used was correct or not.
Why Did This Happen?
This is not the first incident of its kind. In Pakistan, there are many small clinics where unqualified and fake doctors are working. They do not have proper degrees. They do not know about the right dose of medicine. They do not know about allergies. But still, people go to them because their treatment is cheap and quick.
Sometimes a patient has an allergy to an injection, and a good doctor always asks first and does a test. A fake doctor does not care. He just gives the injection to earn money. And the result is death.
This young man’s death is a clear example of what can happen when we trust our life to a wrong person.
We Must Take Care of Our Teeth
Our teeth are very important. If our teeth are healthy, we can eat well, speak well, and smile well. But most people do not take care of their teeth.
We only go to the dentist when the pain becomes unbearable. This is wrong. We should take care of our teeth daily:
1. Brush your teeth twice a day – in the morning and before sleeping.
2. Do not eat too much chocolate, toffee, and cold drinks. They damage teeth.
3. Do not use your teeth to open bottles or break hard things.
4. Clean your mouth after eating.
5. Visit a dentist every 6 months for a check-up, even if there is no pain.
If you have pain in your teeth, do not ignore it. And do not take medicine by yourself. Always go to a good dentist.
We Must Take Care of Our Health
Health is the biggest blessing from Allah. If we are healthy, we can work, study, and enjoy life. If we are sick, even a lot of money cannot give us happiness.
But sadly, many people only think about money and ignore their health. They eat unhealthy food, they do not sleep well, they do not exercise, and they do not go to the doctor on time.
We should:
– Eat healthy and clean food
– Drink clean water
– Sleep on time
– Do some exercise or walk daily
– Keep our body and our home clean
Prevention is better than cure. If we take care of our health today, we can save ourselves from big diseases tomorrow.
Always Check – Is Your Doctor Verified?
This is the most important lesson from this incident.
Before you go to any doctor, clinic, or hospital, please make sure:
1. Is the doctor qualified?
Ask about his degree. A real doctor will never hide his degree. You can also check his name on the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council website.
2. Is the clinic registered?
A legal clinic is registered with the Health Care Commission. If a clinic is in a small dark room with no board and no license, do not go there.
3. Is the clinic clean?
Check if the tools are clean and sterilized. Dirty tools can give you Hepatitis and other dangerous diseases.
4. Does the doctor listen to you?
A good doctor always asks about your history, your allergies, and your other diseases before giving medicine. If a doctor directly gives you an injection without asking anything, be careful.
5. Do not run after cheap treatment.
This is a big problem in our society. People go to a “cheap doctor” to save 500 or 1000 rupees. But remember, your life is not cheap. A cheap treatment from a fake doctor can take your life. It is better to pay a little more to a good doctor than to lose your life to save money.
Do not put your life in danger for low prices. Money can be earned again, but life cannot come back.
What Should The Government Do?
The government and health department should also take action:
– They should check all clinics regularly.
– Fake clinics should be closed immediately.
– Fake doctors should get strict punishment.
– People should be told about how to check a real doctor.
And we as people should also report fake clinics. If we see any fake doctor in our area, we should inform the police or health department. Our silence can cause another death.
A 26-year-old boy lost his life for a small tooth problem. His family will never forget this pain. His mother will always wait for him.
Let us learn from this incident. Let us promise to ourselves:
– We will take care of our teeth and our health.
– We will never go to a fake or unqualifiedY doctor.
– We will always check if the doctor is verified. • We will not risk our life to save a little money.
Your life is precious. Your family’s happiness depends on you. Do not trust your life to just anyone.
Justice for the young man. Safety for all of us.
