KOHAT: The Abasin Adbi Tolana (AAT) Kohat has arranged a special Literary Sitting in honor of the renowned Pashto poet Niaz Ali Talib, living abroad at Nari Kuk Billitang area on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha, which was presided over by Pashto Poet Rahim Khan Majrooh, while famous critic Khalid Pakhtun was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Ghulam Sher Afridi performed the duties of comparing, while Maulana Abdul Halim Al-Hakimi formally started the ceremony with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The Guest of Honor, Niaz Ali Talib, thanked the guests for coming from far away despite the hot weather and said that this love and affection of the people will continue to give him encouragement abroad.
On this occasion, the current literary situation of Kohat was also discussed and after thorough deliberations, all the participants unanimously decided to distance themselves from the newly formed literary organization Pukhtana Adabi Malgari (PAM) and quit its WhatsApp Group. This crucial decision was taken because no literary organization of Kohat was taken into confidence or consulted while forming the PAM. So the Abasin Adabi Tolana Kohat and Kohat Adabi Jirga decided to dissociate themselves from the PAM.
Speaking on this occasion, President of the sitting, Rahim Khan Majrooh said that decisions are sustainable and long-lasting in which the opinions of all friends are included. He said that Niaz Ali Talib is an old and experienced writer and he has a name and place in Pashto literature.
Feroz Khan Sadiq, Zahid Afridi, Syed Masoom Shah Masoom, Asad Afridi, Millat Khan Afridi, Tahir Afridi and others attended the sitting and thanked the organizers of the Abasin Adbi Tolana for bringing literary figures together in one platform.
