Peshawar: The provincial capital, Peshawar, is once again witnessing a rapid spread of the dengue outbreak, causing severe distress among residents. According to the health department, dozens of patients have been diagnosed with dengue in various parts of the city over the past few days and were immediately shifted to hospitals.
Health experts say that stagnant water after recent rains and poor sanitation have contributed to the breeding of dengue mosquitoes. In this regard, special dengue wards have been established in hospitals, while the public has been advised to adopt precautionary measures.
Doctors emphasize that to prevent dengue, households and streets must be kept free of standing water, mosquito nets should be used, and children should be dressed in full clothing before going outside.
The administration states that a fumigation campaign has been launched in affected areas. However, citizens claim that government measures are not visible in most localities, which is why dengue cases are continuously increasing.
