BAJAUR: A court in Bajaur district has acquitted several local leaders and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in cases related to the May 9 incidents.
According to the court’s decision, PTI Bajaur’s senior leaders, including Sub-Division Nawagai Nazim Ali, Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman, former candidate from Sub-Division Khar, Luqman Khan, Shaheed Rehan Zaib Khan, Member Khan, Nasir Khan Nasir, Nasruddin Khan and Abdul Haq Yar, along with several other party workers, were acquitted in Case No. 64 and Case No. 79.
According to the PTI leaders, the cases and FIRs had remained under trial for nearly three years. Following the verdict, the leaders welcomed the court’s decision, termed it a victory for justice, and expressed their gratitude to the court and the relevant legal forum.
The PTI leaders alleged that the cases against them had been registered unjustly and were baseless. They said they reserved the right to seek damages and initiate other legal proceedings, in accordance with the law, against those who allegedly lodged the cases against them.
The PTI leaders described the verdict as a victory for truth and justice and expressed hope that the process of justice would continue in accordance with legal requirements.
