KOHAT: In order to ensure the law and order and better arrangements in connection with the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram, an important meeting was held in Parachinar under the chairmanship of the Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah, which besides others, was also attended by the DIG Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat, Deputy Commissioner Kurram Ashfaq Khan, Commanding Officer 39-AK Colonel Ali, DPO Kurram Malik Habib Khan, Assistant Commissioner Upper Kurram and district heads of all concerned departments.
During the meeting, security, cleanliness, lighting, water, medical facilities, and other administrative matters were discussed in detail for the peaceful and effective holding of gatherings and processions during the Muharram-ul-Haram in the Kurram district. Commissioner Kohat on this occasion, directed all the departments to ensure provision of all necessary facilities during Muharram-ul-Haram under mutual communication, coordination and a coherent strategy so that the citizens do not face any kind of trouble.
Commissioner Kohat emphasized that maintaining communal harmony, brotherhood and a peaceful atmosphere is the common responsibility of all of us.
At the end, the participants expressed their determination that all institutions will fulfill its responsibilities to maintain peace and order during the Muharram-ul-Haram with mutual cooperation.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Kohat also met with Shia and Sunni elders in this regard and took them into confidence. Similarly, he also inspected the routes of Muharram processions in detail and gave necessary instructions regarding security measures. Sunni and Shia elders assured their full cooperation for the peaceful conduct of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The district administration also announced the establishment of monitoring committees and coordination committees at different levels in the coming days so that immediate contact and coordination can be ensured in any situation.
