SWAT: Member of the Provincial Assembly Fazal Hakim Khan and Commissioner Malakand Division Masood Ahmed attended the final of the Commissioner Malakand Cricket Cup 2026 at Grassy Ground, Mingora, on Independence Day.
The final between Swat District and Upper Swat District was interrupted by persistent rain. As the match could not be completed, the tournament administration declared both teams joint winners and awarded the championship trophy to both sides.
Deputy Commissioner Swat Sohail Ahmed, DPO Swat Muhammad Umar, Regional Sports Officer Malakand Hazratullah and other officials were also present. Hundreds of cricket fans attended the match.
Fazal Hakim Khan, Masood Ahmed and other officials distributed trophies and prizes among the two teams and players.
The speakers said holding the tournament on Independence Day was a positive initiative to promote healthy competition, discipline and teamwork among youth. They highlighted the sporting talent in Swat and across KP and pledged continued efforts to provide better sports facilities and opportunities.
