KOHAT: Monsoon Trees Plantation Campaign 2025, on the directions of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and Chief Secretary Syed Shahab Ali Shah, in the government offices and buildings is in full swing in the entire Kohat Division.
In this regard, Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah formally inaugurated the plantation campaign by planting fruit trees in the Agriculture Office, KDA Office, District Jail Kohat and other government institutions. He also distributed thousands of free fruit plants among the progressive landowners of Kohat District at the Agriculture Office. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Kohat Hamid Iqbal, District Director Agriculture Dr. Shakirullah and large number of landowners were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Kohat said that tree plantation is not only a means of protecting the environment but also a guarantee of a safe future for the next generations. He urged all the government institutions to plant maximum trees within their premises and ensure its look-after. He added, with the joint efforts of the Divisional and District Administrations Kohat and MOL Pakistan, so far more than 15,000 fruit trees including guava, loquat and fig have been planted in various government offices of Kohat Division.
Commissioner Kohat said that human beings are the best of creation and Allah Almighty has chosen them for the wellbeing of all creatures. Not only humans but also animals, birds and other creatures benefit from tree plantation, therefore, maximum tree plantation is the need of the hour. He while stressing the need to fully participate in the tree plantation campaign for the sake of our new generation and other creatures, said that the survival of humanity lies in it. Similarly, we should love all the creatures of Allah Almighty, this gives us peace of mind and heart, he maintained.
Earlier, Commissioner Kohat also visited the government nursery and the office of the District Director at the Agriculture Office where Dr. Shakirullah gave him a detailed briefing. He was very impressed with the cleanliness and management of the office and called it worthy of imitation for other government departments.
Later, Commissioner Kohat Division along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jail Superintendent and prisoners planted hundreds of saplings in the premises of District Jail Kohat under the monsoon plantation drive. The Jail Superintendent informed, during the current plantation drive, our target is to plant more than 1000 fruit plants, which will be achieved. The saplings planted in District Jail Kohat will not only be a source of learning and practical training in gardening for the prisoners but will also help in making the prison environment green and pleasant. This practical initiative of the tree plantation campaign is being highly appreciated by the public and government circles and it is expected that this campaign will progress further successfully throughout the Kohat Division.
