KOHAT: Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah has inspected sanitation and anti-dengue operations in the city, accompanied by the officials from the Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Kohat, Tehsil Municipal Administration and the Cantonment Board. Shah toured various neighborhoods, Bazaars and public places to assess cleanliness and drainage systems, directing officials to ensure no negligence in waste collection and sanitation. He said joint efforts by municipal institutions were essential to provide residents with a healthy environment. WSSC Kohat acting CEO Muhammad Saad Qureshi, Tehsil Municipal Officer Waqas Ali Shah and representatives of the Cantonment Board were present during the visit. The Commissioner stressed stronger coordination among the agencies to address public grievances swiftly. Reviewing the anti-dengue campaign, Shah visited workshops and other sensitive locations, warning owners and residents not to allow stagnant water to collect in tyres, tubs or containers-key breeding sites for dengue larvae. He ordered health and municipal departments to continue fumigation and spraying at homes, schools, graveyards and public areas. Commissioner said preventing dengue and maintaining sanitation was a shared responsibility of both the government agencies and the citizens. He added that monitoring of anti-dengue measures was ongoing at the divisional level and that administrations, municipal bodies and health departments would work around the clock to provide a safe and healthy environment.
